RIGOUR · TRANSPARENCY · INTEGRITY

Editorial policies.

Our editorial policies support academic consistency, documentary traceability and responsible scholarly publishing.

These policies guide authors, reviewers, editors and contributors during the preparation and publication of Scientexa Editora works.

Scholarly and technical review

Review suited to the work and its scope.

Academic and scientific works submitted to Scientexa Editora undergo assessment appropriate to their nature, scope and field. Reviewers are selected for their academic background, experience and subject expertise.

Assessment considers scientific consistency, theoretical grounding, methodological appropriateness, originality, clarity, the quality of references and academic relevance. Recommendations may require authors to revise the work before the final editorial decision.

Where applicable, Scientexa Editora records and retains review reports, assessed versions and the main stages of the editorial process to preserve a traceable assessment history.

Authorship and contributions

Clearly attributed intellectual responsibility.

Authorship must reflect a substantive intellectual contribution to the conception, development, analysis, interpretation or writing of the work. Technical, editorial and supporting contributions that do not qualify for authorship should receive appropriate acknowledgement.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the information, the integrity of the content, proper attribution of sources and disclosure of relevant contributions and relationships.

Conflicts of interest

Editorial independence and transparency.

Authors, reviewers and editors must disclose financial, institutional, professional or personal circumstances that could reasonably be perceived as influencing assessment, interpretation or editorial decisions.

Where a relevant conflict exists, Scientexa Editora may replace a reviewer, reassign the assessment or take another measure to preserve the independence of the process.

Originality and research integrity

Verifiable content and responsible attribution.

Scientexa Editora does not accept fabrication or falsification of data, plagiarism, misappropriation of content, manipulation of references or other practices incompatible with academic integrity.

Previously published, reused or adapted content must be identified transparently and handled in accordance with copyright, applicable licences and relevant citation standards.

Responsible use of artificial intelligence

Human oversight, verification and traceability.

AI tools may support work where their use is appropriate to its nature, without replacing human intellectual and authorial responsibility.

Substantive AI use must involve oversight, verification and, where relevant, documentation or disclosure. AI systems must not be listed as authors or used to introduce unverified data, references or claims.

Corrections, updates and retractions

A transparent record of significant changes.

The editorial team assesses significant errors identified after publication. Depending on the nature and extent of the problem, Scientexa Editora may publish corrections, update the work, issue an editorial notice or, exceptionally, withdraw or retract content.

Changes that substantially affect the work must be documented and, where necessary, linked to a new edition, version or identifier.

Copyright and licensing

Explicit conditions of use.

Copyright and conditions of use are specified in each publication and its metadata. Scientexa Editora respects the rights of authors, rights holders and third parties and requires permission for protected material where necessary.

A DOI, ISBN or other persistent identifier does not, by itself, change ownership of rights or the publication’s licence.

Editorial standards and bibliographic quality

Consistent documentation throughout preparation.

Works are prepared using the standards and citation styles appropriate to their nature and field. The editorial team checks consistency across citations, references, front matter, tables, figures, identifiers and other relevant documentary elements.

Editorial standardisation does not replace the authors’ responsibility for the accuracy and authenticity of cited sources.

Metadata and persistent identifiers

Identification, discovery and traceability.

Scientexa Editora seeks to maintain consistent, up-to-date bibliographic metadata to identify authors, works, editions and relationships between records accurately.

Where applicable, ISBN, DOI, ORCID, ISNI and other recognised persistent identifiers may be used, respecting the specific purpose of each system.
